It is an honor and a privilege to welcome you to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, host city of the National Congress of the Spanish Society of Electromedicine and Clinical Engineering (SEEIC) 2026, an event that consolidates its role as a leading forum for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and advances in the field of healthcare technology and clinical engineering in our country.
The healthcare system is currently facing a scenario of profound transformation, in which the incorporation of new technologies must place the patient at the center of innovation, while at the same time ensuring safety, quality of care, efficiency, and sustainability. The constant evolution of medical devices, clinical processes, and management models requires a joint and rigorous reflection by all stakeholders involved.
In this context, the SEEIC 2026 Congress is conceived as a space for analysis and debate aimed at addressing the main challenges and opportunities of innovation in healthcare technology, from a comprehensive perspective encompassing products, processes, and management. Throughout the different sessions, special attention will be given to the management of healthcare technology throughout its entire life cycle, promoting models that support data-driven decision-making, cost-effectiveness, and the sustainability of the healthcare system.
The scientific program will pay particular attention to the sustainability and economic efficiency of healthcare technology, as well as to the need to advance the professionalization of Electromedicine and Clinical Engineering, strengthening competencies, leadership, and recognition of the strategic value of these professional profiles within healthcare organizations. Likewise, issues related to standardization, technovigilance, and the regulatory framework will be addressed as key elements to ensure quality, patient safety, and compliance with current regulatory requirements.
Digital transformation will also occupy a prominent place, analyzing the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in healthcare technology, systems interoperability, the use of artificial intelligence, advanced data management, and the cybersecurity of connected medical devices, as fundamental drivers for improving health outcomes.
SEEIC 2026 actively encourages the participation of clinical engineers, senior electromedical technicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, students, and companies in the sector, promoting a collaborative environment in which scientific communications and practical experiences contribute to the real transfer of knowledge to the healthcare system.
